Residents warned of bail bond scam
Cumberland County Sheriff Butch Burgess warns residents they should be wary if a law enforcement officer calls and tells them someone they know needs money to bail out of jail. It’s a scam.

Coles County animal control workers: Not all pit bulls deemed violent dogs
So far this year, Coles County Animal Control has handled 79 dog bite cases, and 13 of them involved pit bulls or mixes of that breed.
