Requirements to get on Suboxone?
Question by Kate <3: Requirements to get on Suboxone?
Im just wondering if you have to be in some type of rehab program like an outpatient rehab or can you be prescribed suboxone w/o going into a treatment program. I was on suboxone 3 years ago & that doctor would only prescribe it to me if I was in IOP rehab at the treatment program he was working with (the tharapists would refer patients to him from their program). Is this a law or the doctors preference? I reacently relapsed =( & want to get my life back but I cannot afford to go into any BS program, im working 2 jobs & am full time in school!!

Go to www.suboxone.com. You will find a physician finder in your area that prescribes Suboxone in the privacy of their office. No you do not have to be in a rehab or detox facility to get on Suboxone. I am going through the same thing. I went on www.suboxone.com to find a Dr as I am trying to get off hydrocodone. I made the appt and did a consultation, but he can’t give me it as I am preg so he put me on Methadone (whole nother story not going well at all). You will need insurance though, and some offices won’t even take out of pocket pay has to be insurance only. But go to the website and you will find plenty of Dr.s in your area that can prescribe it (only certain Dr.s can but they are listed on there if they can). Good luck and hope all goes well for you!
