rehab laws, can 24 year old be sent to rehab by parents?
Question by A b: rehab laws, can 24 year old be sent to rehab by parents?
Alright, I have a friend hes 24 years old. Last year around April 08 he was baker acted 2 times. and ever since then he hasn’t gone. The thing is someone gave him a drug that wasn’t what he wanted. so he kinda got a little out of control. and got backer acted. the hospital did not check to see what kind of drug was in his system and they did not even pay attention to the fact that he was a little out of control due to what someone gave him by mistake. The doctors only listened to his father ( which has schizophrenia) and his father is a very stubborn man that kept telling the doctors his kid was bipolar/schizo and told the doctors normal behavior with a little twist to make it sound like he was really bipolar in order for the doctors to take his father serious. so while his father was saying that, my friend was telling the doctors hes acting like this because he got mest up by a drug. they ignored it. diagnosed him with bipolar. he was precribed medication. but all the medication did to him was make him sick and he was still the same person they think ‘ is bipolar’ so basically the meds don’t work because he isn’t bipolar. Now, I’m asking since it’s been a year ago since he was baker acted and that now my friend is smoking marijuana ( safely ) can his parents force him to go to rehab? My friend is completely back to normal but the only thing that is making him ‘look’ like he is crazy or mental ill is his parents that suggest he is bipolar because he is acting the way he has been acting for 10 years straight which is normal anger and such. I know that this is a lot to read but I cannot find any help on this topic from anywhere or no one. thanks guys I really appreciate it. <3

At 24 his parents cannot send him anyplace but they can have a doctor bakers act him again if his behavior indicates he is a danger to himself or others.~
