John Golden was rushed to the hospital two years ago, his heart racing as he overdosed on crack cocaine. His addiction to crack and alcohol was taking what his family feared would be a final toll. I was a time bomb waiting to happen, Golden, now 35, said. I was addicted to everything. Whatever made me warm and fuzzy, I took everything. Today, the Abington man is sober and a student at Massasoit Community College, ready to spread the message that help is available and addictions can be conquered. Golden, who grew up in Braintree, will be talking at the community college Nov. 19 in the Louison Boardroom from noon to 1 pm about his experiences. He had also been featured on the A&E series, Intervention, in 2006., a segment tentatively set to rerun again next Monday. Video Rating: 0 / 5
