Recovered Addicts?
Question by Milo: Recovered Addicts?
My gf & I got into an argument about recovered addicts. She’s watching some kid on Oprah who was a meth addict. The audience gave him a standing ovation & really cheered for him when “O” said he had been clean for 3 years.
My opinion: Good for you, you were able to quit. That was no doubt hard to do. You are NOT a hero. With any congrats you get for quitting, we have to keep in mind that you were a complete idiot and weak individual for having tried meth in the first place and an even bigger idiot for continuing to use and getting addicted. I smoked for 10 years and quit and I don’t deserve any more credit than someone who never started.
Bottom line: You were an idiot when you tried meth 1st time. You’ve gone through the incredibly hard task of quitting. The two cancel each other out and now you’re just like anyone else. You don’t deserve special attention from those of us who were smart enough not to touch it at all (maybe from current addicts who need inspiration)
Want to add that I smoked cigarettes, not meth…
lol thanks jimbo

I agree that they do not deserve any special recognition for ceasing to be morons.
