Reality TV & Eating Disorders: Is there a way to get along?

Further commentary on the three reality tv shows planning to enter eating disorder treatment facilities. I do believe these programs can serve the ED community in a positive way if produced right, and if backed by a higher goal (similar to the Jamie Oliver show, where he is on a mission to fight the USDA). What if a program such as this was linked to treatment centers nationwide? What if Corporate sponsors offered the funds to allow more to enter treatment? What if the program also featured those who have recovered, perhaps mentoring for those in treatment? Just a few thoughts, but my main point is at face value, this sounds like a complete and total nightmare….but it could be an opportunity in disguise. Heather aka mamaV
