Questions about Suboxone?
Question by Kristen: Questions about Suboxone?
My boyfriend just got out of a 31-day drug rehab facility last week and has been clean of opiates for over 40 days now. However, today I found out he took 1 mg of Suboxone and he’s been sick and throwing up all day.
So, I have a few questions:
– Why is he so sick? (He used to be an extremely heavy drug user, using heroin, Roxicodone pills and cocaine daily and in extremely large quantities, so why is 1 mg of Suboxone making him so sick? There’s nothing else in his system, and this is not the first time he’s used Suboxone. However, this has been the first time he’s used any drug since he’s been clean.)
– Can Suboxone show up on a drug test? (He is currently in IOP and has to get drug tested three times a week. Will he fail? He’s not prescribed Suboxone, so if he were to fail he’ll have to go back to rehab for another 90 days.)
– Is him buying and using Suboxone not prescribed to him considered a relapse?
Note: I am also a former drug addict; D.O.C: OxyContin, heroin and cocaine. So I’m pretty knowledgeable of the affect of many substances. However, I have never used Suboxone. Does is it have a similar affect to opiates like Roxicodone or OxyContin? I know some people relate it to methadone, but I always thought that was a much stronger drug. Any information about Suboxone will be helpful for me because I know nothing about how it feels, what it affects, and how it’s supposed to be used and I really want my boyfriend back on track, and I don’t want him falling back to this death trap, so I’m trying to learn as much as possible. Any info helps. Thanks!
