Question about welfare?
Question by a. lynn: Question about welfare?
My second cousin is getting really big (his name, not his weight), he is a politician, he wants to some day become the governor of Texas, believe it or not… he has high chances. I am not going to give his name because this is such a iffy topic. They are discussing welfare, it is huge in Texas, there is a large number of people on government assisting, much more than most other states. Crime rates and drug use is also very huge amongst this group of people on government assistance. My idea I proposed to my fam was that he try and pass a law that requires all people the benefit from government funds they have to pass ransom drug screenings. If these people cant afford to buy groceries and in some cases pay rent on their own, why is it then that have the money to support their habit, possibly crack/cocaine, heroin, Rx pills (somebody else’s prescription of course…) I’veseen it before my self, there was this deaf guy and he received 0 a month from disability, on the 3rd of every month his check would come in, his wife wouldn’t see him for about two weeks, cuz he is always out spun out of his mind on meth, while he digs for arrow heads. My mom for example, when i was 15/16 I moved in with my mom, she got us on food stamps, and she also has a meth problem, she would always barely be able to pay the bills cuz she didn’t have enough money, it was because she was spending money on speed. My dad sent her 00 to put towards her probation, she only used 0 of it for probation the rest was CRANK, and her boyfriend gave her 0 to put towards her probation 0 of it really made it to the court house! Hate to say it, but my mom is one of them! How can the government let this happen, so many people would loose their benefits, requiring them to either quit their drug use so they could get back on the program, or quit using and use the extra (what was drug$$) for groceries, in which the government used to pay for. It’s a win win. The only bad situation would be of they have kids, and they keep using and the kids suffer, but then again there is the government (yet again) who provide assistance for the kids (CPS). my cuz said this idea would be affective, yet unrealistic any time soon. I just want to know what you think? Or any alternative ideas I can pitch at him….

say no to welfare.
If people cant take care of them selves, then they do not deserve others to take care of them.
Actually, Your idea sounds very good. I cant think of another one, except to eliminate it, and make these junkies get a job.
If it the kids you are worried about, put them in a new home, and then cut off the junkies welfare
