I want to be a parent someday.
And me and my partner have talked about children.
In HIS family, his parents gave him “swats” and also, his grandparents.
…I grew up with “beatings” and “abuse”. I would have cried with happiness if I ever got a spanking. I was used to getting punched in the face, or locked in my room for 2 days. I have scars everywhere and I managed to not lose my mind as a teenager.

When my partner said he would be okay with our parents and grandparents spanking our kids, I flat out, said NO.
I dont even think I want to spank my kids at all…its a mental think. I wont put up with a little brat, but I dont believe hitting a kid is right.

My rule to our family will be, if you hit my child, I will hit you. End of discussion.

I dont think I am wrong. I grew up a certain way, and I will NOT let my children live that way.

Does anyone think I am perfectly right to say what I have said?

They will be your kids, you raise them how you want. Of course it’s your right to say how to raise them.
