Cut 2 – No mask This monologue is an expression of how I feel internet addiction has affected me on a personal level. I come from a family of addicts and Ive experienced what addiction looks like in terms of drug and alcohol abuse. Drawing upon those themes, I treat internet addiction like a drug addiction. The escapism of cyberspace is what is fatal; interacting on the web is significantly different than interacting in real life. It is so easy to become someone different or just remain completely anonymous, and that is what is so intoxicating to people.
