Police abuse power? What should one do?
Question by piesareyum: Police abuse power? What should one do?
Someone I know was ticketed for not halting at a stop sign today. However, the person DID stop and was told to pull over. (Well, I can’t really say she did stop because I wasn’t there and was not part of the scene.) More officers came over and, I guess, talked to the victim. In the end she still received a ticket.
Let’s say the person really did stop, there were no witnesses at the scene to help justify the truth, and the police still gives a ticket? What can one do, if ticketed, for something that is unjust like this? Or just being wronged in general?
(Totally irrelevant, but I once saw a police run past a stop sign, and he didn’t seem like he was in a hurry to “help.”)

All police are corrupt, illegitimate, unnecessary, and abusive. No big surprise there.
