Please help!! Liquid meth found in glass vials?
Question by monkey mom: Please help!! Liquid meth found in glass vials?
I work as a middle school counselor. Today, a boy brought at least one vial of a cloudy-clear liquid. The vial however was all made of extremely thin glass, rounded at the ends (no cap), about the size of a pen cap. One kid broke one open and poured it onto a piece of felt cloth. Some boys started inhaling it (claiming to not know what it was), and when one kid refused they threw it at his face. He now has second degree burns, but we cannot get the kid to admit what the substance is. Some students claim it was liquid meth and that this is sold in our area. Has anyone else heard of this. I later was able to find glass shards from one of the vials and one piece was coated with a white powder.
The piece of felt with the substance ended up in my office and I have had a headache, trouble breathing, a burning sensation in my throat and palpitations since.
Does anyone know of meth being distributed this way? I appreciate your help!

I’ve *never* heard of crystal meth being distributed that way. Ever heard of Amyl Nitrites? That sounds like a much better candidate. I haven’t heard of them being made recently, but they used to be quite popular. With those you would crack them under your nose and inhale.
I’ve heard of powdered cystal meth that you insufflate (snort), or the pill form, but that’s it.
Physical effects include decrease in blood pressure, headache, flushing of the face, increased heart rate(can cause palpitations and trouble breathing), dizziness, and relaxation of involuntary muscles, especially the blood vessel walls. There are no withdrawal symptoms. Overdose symptoms include nausea, emesis (vomiting), hypotension, hypoventilation, dyspnea (shortness of breath), and syncope (fainting).
