Overcoming Addiction and Dealing With Life?s Challenges

Washington, DC (Vocus) August 10, 2010

Time heals all wounds until they fade to scars. But that doesn’t mean that the pain is gone. Author Beverly Miller reveals her tumultuous journey in The Life and Fear of Living with an Addict and Dealing with Life.

This autobiography is a true story about a life being ignorant to drugs. The author shares how much pain her parents’ and grandparents’ deaths brought her much pain and how she became the worst alcoholic ever—and almost died from it. In her younger years, Miller was also molested, a fact that is still very painful to this day. She became involved with a man who used drugs and when their relationship ended, the drinking became worse. It seemed as though there was no end to the struggles in life. But rehab helped her and after seventeen years and no drugs, she is happier and given a second shot at love.

The Life and Fear of Living with an Addict and Dealing with Life allows readers a glimpse into the life of living with an addict—the constant fear, the extreme mood swings, and thefts just to satisfy the craving to get high. It also shows them how one should deal with the life’s challenges the right way instead of attempting to escape them through addiction.

“I would tell you, if you haven’t drank or used drugs, you are not missing anything. You would like to make decisions on a sober conscience. Sometimes the decision you make while using drugs may haunt you for life,” says the author. “I want everybody to know that no matter how rough things become, we have to be strong individuals. We can get through it with the help and the strength of God.”
