New Rule for Islamic countries?
Question by Avishai: New Rule for Islamic countries?
What do you think about this new rule:
Islamic can no longer complain about the “human rights abuses” of Israel (or the US)- until they allow woman to vote, make rape illegal, stop killing gays for being gay, allow people of other faiths to live in their countries, denounce terrorism, and stop torturing people regularly. Oppressive dictatorial regimes should not be allowed to accuse Westernized democracies of breaking rules that they themselves take great pride in ignoring.
PHEEMZ- Once a territory has been officially turned over to a form of native government, it is no longer considered “occupied” under international law (see: US forces in Iraq, which is no longer considered occupied although US forces are still on the ground). Aditionally, according to the Agreement between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization of September 28, 1995, Israel is no longer considered an occupying power. I won’t even say what Israel is doing is right, just that “occupation” doesn’t describe it.
How exactly are Arabs considered second class citizens in Israel? They have all the same rights as non-Muslim israelis, which is far more than they would have in any Islamic country. In every country there are always disparities between the lifestyles of the majority and minorities (even here in the US). This disparity however, does not make minorities “second class citizens.”
I would also ask what country the territory is being occupied from, because to be occupied a territory must have been taken from a sovereign nation.
