Question by LO: Need to know which insurance companies cover Dr. ordered drug testing.?
My friend goes to a pain management doctor who recently began ordering mandatory drug testing. The tests cost 820,00 per visit at Quest Diagnostics. Her insurance (Horizon BC) does not cover Dr prescribed drug tests. If she cannot afford the out of pocket expense the Dr will refuse treatment. The Dr will not perform in office drug testing.

if i was you, i’d ask the dr if they know what insurances pay for this testing. they ususally know best since they deal with the different insurances in your area.

or callanother lab and find out how much they charge.
each lab is different, like each store….
