Need some answers from someone thats on SSI Disability for Mental Illness?

Question by Invisible Pink ~ RN: Need some answers from someone thats on SSI Disability for Mental Illness?
I have a friend who is in def. need of getting on Social Security Disability. She’s been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and Borderline Personality Disorder, and takes Ritalin 3 times a day and Seroquel once.

So this is my question: Whats steps does she need to take to ensure her application is approved?

She can get a job, but usually ends up losing it due to her “mental health”, she’s also in recovery from drugs; more specifically crack cocaine.

She’s been this way for as many years as I can remember, I’ve helped her out for many years but its time she get on some kind of assistance. She refuses to apply at this time and not sure why. Could be because shes afraid of the denial, or could be shes embarrassed about her illness, not too many people know aside from me.
