He says mean hateful things to me and they hurt. He trys to get me to hate him. Then it worked and now he is living somewhere else and now he is being nice and wants me to want him. Is he playing one big control game with my feelings or is he crazy?

Leave that man alone. He told you how he felt when he still had you. Now that he doesn’t have you, he realizes he messed up pretty bad, and wants you back. Maybe you supported him, maybe you cleaned, cooked, took care of him, someway. Whatever the reason is, do not let him back in. He already showed you how he truly feels.
