mental health nurse or psychologist?:?

i’m taking a-levels in september, and i either want to become a mental health nurse of a therapist, i’d like to work either in a mental health hospital or a drug/alcohol rehabilitation center.

if i became a mental health nurse, would i be really helping people psychologically, or just cleaning up after them?
