(PRWEB) February 11, 2004 –Research Across America, located in Dallas, TX, is enrolling patients in multiple medical research studies. Benefits to participants for enrolling are free study-related medical care and medicine, as well as contributing to the development of new therapies and learning more about a medical condition and treatment options.
Participation in a clinical trial is based on inclusion/exclusion criteria. Some studies require a person to have a specific condition with specific symptoms, while others are for healthy individuals interested in preventative care. A member of our patient recruitment staff will pre-screen applicants to be sure the study is appropriate for each patient.
Current and upcoming studies include:
C-Reactive Protein — Are you concerned about heart disease? An investigational medication given to people with elevated high sensitivity C-Reactive Protein might help to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Volunteers are needed for a clinical research program to study the effects of an investigational medication on reducing the risk of cardiovascular events. If you are – A woman age 65 and older; a man 55 and older; Have low to normal LDL-Cholesterol – you may qualify for this study.
Interstitial Cystitis- Recurrent Bladder Pain or Discomfort? Frequent Trips to the Bathroom? You may have Interstitial Cystitis. A designated medical facility is taking part in a clinical research study of a currently approved oral medication for the relief of bladder pain or discomfort associated with interstitial cystitis. Study Participants Must: have recurrent bladder pain or discomfort with urinary urgency or frequency, be willing to attend up to 9 visits to a doctors office over a period of 6 months.
Hispanics with High Cholesterol– For Hispanic men and women 18 and over. Qualified study participants will receive investigational research medicine, study-related medical exams, study-related medical care, and compensation up to 0.00 for time and travel. Participants must speak and read English fluently.
Hypertension – This study is for adults 18 and over who have a diastolic blood pressure equal to or greater than 95. Participants of this 11 to 12 week study must be able to discontinue antihypertensive therapy without an unacceptable level of risk. Those eligible will receive study-related medical exams and study medicine at no cost, as well as compensation for time and travel.
Alcohol/Opiate Dependence Research Study – For adults 18 and older, who have a diagnosis of alcohol dependence or opiate (i.e. heroin, codeine, hydrocodone, oxycontin, Percocet®) dependence and have a desire to quit. Those eligible will receive investigational study medication and study-related medical care, including physical exams, lab work, ECG, follow-up outpatient physician visits and individual therapy at no cost. Compensation for time and travel is also available.
GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) – Do you suffer from Heartburn at least 3 days per week? And Do you suffer from Regurgitation at least 3 days per week? Have you been diagnosed with Gastroesphageal Reflux Disease (GERD)? If you answered YES to the previous questions, and you are between the ages of 18 and 70 years old, you may qualify to participate in a new clinical study involving an investigational drug that is being tested for the treatment of symptomatic Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (sGERD).
BPH — Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia – This research study is for men ages 50 and over who have been clinically diagnosed with BPH (enlarged prostate), but have no prior history or evidence of prostate cancer. Qualified study participants will receive study-related investigational research medicine, study-related medical exams, study-related medical care, and compensation for time and travel.
Rosacea: The blotchiness and redness across your face may be more than just acne. Rosacea commonly starts on the nose and spreads to the cheeks, chin and forehead. Rosacea can worsen over time and can cause persistent redness of the face. If you have moderate to severe Rosacea, you may qualify for a clinical research study. Qualified study participants may receive study-related cream at no charge and financial compensation up to 0.00 to assist with time and travel.
Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) This research study is for females 18 and over who have current symptoms of SUI. This is a condition where movements or actions put stress on the bladder, possibly causing leakage before you reach a restroom. Participants of this 8-week study will receive study-related medical exams and investigational study medicine at no cost, as well as compensation for time and travel.
Prostate Cancer Prevention – One out of six men will develop prostate cancer. We are conducting a PROSTATE CANCER PREVENTION clinical research study for men between 50 and 75 years old. Volunteers must have had a negative biopsy within the last 6 months. All office visits, medical evaluations and investigational medications related to this study will be provided at no cost to patients.
E.D. (Erectile Dysfunction) — Do you suffer from Erectile Dysfunction? We are conducting a research study for the safety and effectiveness of an investigational topical cream for Erectile Dysfunction. Qualified participants will receive study-related exams, lab work and study medication at no cost and may be compensated for their time. To qualify for this study, you must: be 21 to 75 years of age, be a heterosexual male in a stable, monogamous relationship and have your sexual partner accompany you during the screening process.
Vaginal Candidiasis (Yeast Infection) – Ladies: Are you experiencing vaginal itching, burning, and irritation commonly associated with a yeast infection? If so, you may qualify to participate in a national clinical research study. Study participants will receive at no cost: a physical exam and investigational medication. Compensation is also available for time and travel.
Pediatric Ear Infections Age 3 months – 48 months — This national clinical research study is for infants and toddlers with an ear infection. The trial compares an investigational medication to an approved medication. Study medication, and study-related medical care will be provided at no cost. Reimbursement for time and travel will also be provided.
