Maui’s Incarceration Conundrum
The state’s prisons and jails are packed to or beyond capacity. Maui Community Correctional Center (MCCC), constructed 30 years ago to house 209, now holds approximately 356 persons. We continue to ship convicted persons to the Mainlan.
