Listening to a Christian denouncing atheists’ “foul language” is like listening to Saddam Hussein tut-tutting when the victim in his favourite snuff movie curses at their tormentor. So far out of proportion with the eternal damnation that they gleefully dole out to anyone who doesn’t accept their precious saviour that one can only laugh. If you think that there was nothing wrong with Mary Kenny’s analysis in the Irish Independent of Monday 24 November 2008, I suggest you listen to me reading out the article aloud. One thing though: I changed a few small words here and there. Do you still find it acceptable now? Bigotry doesn’t become more tolerable just because the group you’re targeting is still widely seen as “fair game” whilst bigotry against many other groups has become well established as “politically incorrect”.
