Many young adults abuse drugs and alcohol during the college years and then stop the abuse after graduation. Why did they abuse drugs and alcohol? What factors contributed to this change

Because they are away from parental supervision for the first time, and because there is a huge party atmosphere at college that encourages substance use. But when they graduate (or drop out!) and join the workforce, most realize it’s not much fun to have to get up early and go to work with a hangover.
