Who We Are We are a ragamuffin crew desiring not only the doctrines of Christ but also his life style. Jesus said whoever wants to keep his life will lose it and whoever loses his life will find it. We’re located in a very hurting spot of our nation. Jefferson County, has 16% unemployment and huge problems with meth, alcohol, and the string of domestic abuses that accompany them. Madras is a farming community, an hour north of Bend Oregon. It has a state prison and sits on the border of the Warm Spings Reservation. On the Res the average life expectancy of a man is around 45 yrs and there is 50% unemployment. Many of the Res kids are being raised by grandma’s while the parents live a drug lifestyle. We work closely with Parole and Probation and the Sheriff’s office, as well as the local churches. Our heart is to make disciples. Part of that is discipling the recovering addict and the hurting; the other part is discipling the church to be able to love the recovering addict and the hurting. Both are just as important to us. So far we have seen God’s ridiculous favor. The most obvious, is that God sent his son to die on a cross for our sins. Another much smaller evidence of his favor is that the city of Madras has given us a community house with five bedrooms, an office, a kitchen, and a living room; asking us to pay whatever seems right. Also, a christian couple has given the us the use of 50 acres of agricultural land and another donor has offered us 100 A-frames. God has …
