Low Unemployment, but are we back to the “Chicken Pluckers” in America?

Question by thehiddenangle: Low Unemployment, but are we back to the “Chicken Pluckers” in America?
Remember when Clinton was running and Arkansas had low unemployment, and republicans countered that they didn’t want a nation of “Chicken Pluckers”?

Well, back at you republicans. This “low unemployment”, are people settling for minimum wage or lower quality jobs because they can’t get any better work, or are average Americans getting higher quality jobs with appropriate pay?

Attempting to use something close to a “fact” in your response is encouraged!
I’m not baiting the republicans with a “something close to a fact” remark, just looking for people to use some type of facts and statistics to back up their knee-jerk response to the question. Which several of you are doing.

This is not intended to be a leading question, but just searching for honest assessments of whether this “low unemployment” figure represents a “great economy”. I figure with a minimum wage of $ 5.15 and many jobs with wages pinned by a small margin above the minimum wage, this is not really the “employment” most people are seeking and many are qualified to reach beyond.
