Political domino effect a possibility
A spot left vacant with the death of longtime Sen. Robert C. Byrd in June, both Manchin, a Democrat, and Morgantown-area Republican businessman John Raese are battling hard for the seat following a special primary election held in August. Mountain Party candidate Jesse Johnson and Constitution Party candidate Jeff Becker will also be on the ballot.
