Question by countrygal_652000: law making it necessary to involve social services in teen pregnancy – considered child abuse?
I live in PA and have a 17 year old pregnant daughter. At my daughter’s appointment the doctor said that they have to report my daughter’s name to the social services of our town since she is under 18 because under the new laws it is considered “child abuse”? What??? My question is what rights do we have as far as their sticking their noses in our business. There is absolutely nothing to hide, but this seems like an invasion of privacy. Doctor said they will be getting in touch with us or possibly visiting the house? What again? We have a cut and dry thing here, teenager got pregnant to her teenage boyfriend. Not the smartest move in her life, but nonetheless “our” business. Anybody know what this is about and what they are trying to prove??? I would appreciated any info. Thanks guys!!
