I really need your opinion! Please fix anything or suggest anything. Also, if it is good, could you see it in your head? Or is it one of those stories you can’t pay attention to cause its so boring… Its the beginning. Beginnings are usually slow anyway.. in my opinion. This is my first time writing a story so I want to know what to fix and work on in stories I write in the future. Thank you! 🙂
I woke up to the sun gleaming bright into my eyes. Sun! Finally. Its been a long, gloomy winter and I admit, I had enough of it!
As I looked around my room, I was hoping that somehow the mess would clean itself up. It had papers carelessly thrown on the floor, clothes not put back in the closet and ripped up tissues everywhere– due to my dogs love of ripping them apart.
I dragged my self out of bed and check my ‘To-Do’ list. ‘Clean the house!’ was written in big bold letters across the top, but, I always end up putting that off. Number two: ‘Continue job hunting’. Ah, yes. I quit my last job. My boss treated me horribly. Her and my co-worker always went behind my back and talked about me. I just about had it!
I made my way to the kitchen and started preparing breakfast for myself.
“Hey, Eileen!” Carrie said as she skipped through the front door of my house. I can already tell that she was either on a ‘sugar rush’ or she had good news.
“Hi”
“What’cha doin?” I know that tone of voice, its her I-Have-Something-Really-Exciting-To-Tell-You voice.
“Um… nothing really. Thought I would get started on my ‘To-do’ list soon” I sighed.
“Oh, there’s alot on it isn’t there?” she sounded disappointed.
“No, two things really. But, they might take forever.” I laughed.
“I can help!” she suggested. She didn’t know what she was getting herself into.
“Ok, thank you!” I replied quickly. There is no backing out now.
err… yeah.

I like it 🙂 It has a real feel to it that makes you want to read more. I think it will end up being an interesting story! Just be careful and make sure not all of your characters are super happy-go-lucky and hyper like Carrie :). Other than that keep going!
