Is there a statistic our there for abusive men that have changed with counseling?

Question by GMW: Is there a statistic our there for abusive men that have changed with counseling?
MY ex went through loads of counseling when he was first on probation for abuse (I did not know of this while I was with him… he lied to me and told me he never hit a girl) and now he’s on his second probation for domestic violence (towards me… stuff happened all year) and he had cried and said how he didn’t want to be like that and how he wanted help and blah blah blah so I got him to see my therapist and things slowed down but when they happened they were more extreme. So I finally left him. He’s now with this new girl and he is in counseling again and on anxiety pills and all and she says that “he’s getting help” and trying to justify being with him. I’m getting really annoyed by everyone thinking he has permanently changed (in only a short amount of time…) so I would really like to know if there is a statistic out there to prove me right that THESE PEOPLE DON’T CHANGE, EVEN IF THEY GET HELP! IT’S NEVER PERMANENT! …so I can shove it in their faces… thanks ;D
