Okay, so I am almost 16 and I smoke weed whenever it’s around just as a social thing. I have been smoking weed for over a year and I have researched everything about it so I know how it definatley isn’t something to freak out about like most parents do ( go to google video and type in ” the buisness behind getting high” and watch that documentary because it explains how harmless marijuana is). I have showed my dad this video and I feel like it goes in one ear and out the other. My dad smokes cigerettes every day and he even tells me not to smoke weed with a cigerette in his mouth. do you think he is being a hypocrit for smoking something 50X worse than weed and still threatoning me that if I smoke weed I won’t see the light of day? One thing that bothers me is that I could have a beer at a party and my parents won’t mind but if they found out I smoked a bowl it’s like the end of the world and I loose all trust. Also, I have been in trouble for weed before and both my parents opened up to me and told me that they smoked pot as teens. My dad thinks A lot of dumb stuff about weed like ” you can smoke weed and overdose ” or ” if your at a party and cop thinks your high he could take you to jail” and a lot more bull. He’s really ignorant about the subject and I don’t think it’s fair. Thank you for listening and tell me what you think.

It doesn’t matter if he’s being a hypocrite, you’re 16. Sorry. As long as he’s supporting you, he can do what he wants (within the law of course).

Weed IS harmless, but it’s gonna take a few generations before all the socially acceptable marijuana smokers are old and vote. The hype and propaganda around the dangers of marijuana was all too recent to change overnight. But we’ll get there.

Deal with it until you’re out of the house and then you won’t have to worry… sorry. Do what I and many other teenagers have done- find creative ways to cover the smell and toke away at your own risk 🙂
