Question by gfersmile: Is it normal for a 4yr old girl to gyrate herself to sleep putting objects under her or is this signs of abuse
I run a childcare service from my home and i’m very disturbed by the repeated behaviors of one child in particular. I have discussed the matter with the parent to no avail and I didn’t know if i should seek other council on this matter lest I be held liable. The 4yr old places toys, blankets, pillows anything she can under her while laying down and then proceeds to gyrate her entire body till falling asleep. I have to constantly keep my eye on her at nap and remove all objects from her reach.

That does seem quite odd. What did her parent say when you questioned her about it? Is there any other inappropriate actions you see her take or is this the only incident. Hmmm….
