Consult your doctor.

Alcohol is yeast urine. “Yeast pee” if you please. Which is actually a poison. That is why it can be used to disinfect. It also causes brain damage. That is why people lose control of themselves after drinking. It doesn’t make any scene to consume poison while trying to clear-up acne.

The LOGICAL answer to your question
[Is it bad to drink alcohol in my second month of accutane treatment?]
is YES!

It is bad to drink alcohol in your second month of accutane treatment. If you are having problems resisting alcohol get help. Your health is more important than your cravings.

Accutane therapy also has the following serious side effects.
http://dermatology.about.com/cs/isotretinoin/a/accutane_2.htm

* Headaches, if persistent and associated with nausea, vomiting, and blurred vision, may be a sign of a condition called pseudotumor cerebri.
* The incidence of depression, psychosis, and suicide attempts is increased, and returns to normal after discontinuing the drug.
* The production of tears in the eyes is decreased, which can cause, red eyes, itchy eyes, and possibly ulcerations of the cornea, especially with contact lens wearers.
* The ability to distinguish between shades of black and white can be decreased causing night blindness.
* Liver enzymes can be elevated causing jaundice, hepatitis, and abdominal pain.

The side effects of Accutane therapy have prevented some people from considering it as a viable therapy. However, the majority of side effects go away after the drug is discontinued with the notable exception of the birth defects. Despite its side effects, Accutane remains the most powerful and promising therapy for moderate to severe acne. Used in a prudent manner, with careful monitoring, it can change the life of an adolescent or young adult.

Accutane And Alcohol

Did your dermatologist suggest you accutane for the removal of your acne? Do you drink often? If the answers of the two questions are yes, then you should know this:

* Liver malfunction is one of the side effects occasionally suffered by those taking accutane medications. Drinking alcohol, which damages liver, while taking accutane treatment may be double punishment for your liver.

* Similarly, the use of accutane can significantly increase cholesterol and triglyceride levels, the use of alcohol during the accutane treatment will further increase the levels of triglyceride and cholesterol.

While this is the information your doctor may already have provided you with, he may have also added that you must have thorough medical check-ups of your liver before and during the accutane treatment and also the medical check-ups of your cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

It is a fact that accutane can disturb liver function. Your dermatologist will be monitoring your liver, but if he finds that the reaction is placid he will let you continue the treatment. Not often accutane causes an indicative hepatitis. However, if your dermatologist feels it can cause you hepatitis, he will then ask you to immediately discontinue the accutane use. As a precautionary measure you should either minimize the use of alcohol or better quit its use while taking accutane as alcohol affects the liver and hence the hepatitis can be suffered.

Pancreatitis, a painful and dangerous condition, can be suffered by Hypertriglyceridaemia (high blood fats). Make sure you avoid simple carbohydrates especially alcohol during the accutane treatment. If your dermatologist finds significant rise in your blood fats on accutane he will not let you continue the accutane treatment.
