iPhoto Help – “library needs to be upgraded…”!?

Question by Kat: iPhoto Help – “library needs to be upgraded…”!?
Whenever I try to open iPhoto, it gives me the message:
“The Photo Library Needs to be Upgraded work with this version of iPhoto – Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iPhoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process will take several minutes depending on the number of photos”

I click “Upgrade, completely fine with this.

Then, it randomly closes about 2 seconds later, and apple gives me the message : “The application iPhoto quit unexpectedly after it was relaunches. Mac OS X and other applications are not affected. Click relaunch to launch the application again Click report to see more details or send a report to Apple”

I click “Relaunch” and the same thing happens again. My software is fully updated. I have the new white polycarbonate 13 inch mac (2009).

I really just want to find a simple solution! Please help!
