Inpatient detox
If you have tried to stop using drugs on your own only to use time after time there is a solution and that is inpatient detox. I tried to stop drinking and using drugs on my own numerous times. I would stay clean for a few days and even made it a month or two on a couple of occasions. I began to think there was something wrong with me because I just could not stop using no matter how hard I tried.
It was not until I went to an impatient detox center that I learned that there was really nothing wrong with me other than I was addict; in fact I learned that I had a disease and that’s what addicts know how to do use drugs. We have to learn how to stop using them because using is the only thing we knew anything else felt foreign or alien to us.
Any way it took me many, many, attempts at going to inpatient treatment to stop drug abuse and finally get a little time under my belt. I felt like I was the king of relapse. Oh course I also learned that this was untrue too because by attending NA meetings I did see my share of people coming back from a relapse.
The very last time that I went to inpatient detox I was afraid to go back to my home town for fear of being around the same old people I figured I would use again and to me this meant that I may die so what I did was sign up for long term rehab. I ended up going to long term for 2 years and by the grace of God I managed to stay clean.
Let me just say that anyone can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use, and find a new way to live. This includes you also.
Good luck
I am in recovery myself and I like to write addiction. It is my goal to give others information on how they can stop using, overcome drug addiction and find a new way to live without drugs.
