If we legalize marijuana, will the next “gateway” drug in line be something harder, such as free base cocaine?

I mean is the law actually doing us a favor? People who want marijuana will find it anyways, sure prices are higher because of the law, but since marijuana is a rebel’s drug of choice (everyone knows this, sure not everyone who uses it is doing it to rebel), the next drug in line to replace it if it were legalized would be something much harsher like prescription drugs or cocaine, probably cocaine because of the supply and availability.

A “gateway” drug is one that acts as a stepping stone for the user to become involved with harder and more dangerous drugs. Marijuana can still be a gateway drug even if it’s legal.

I don’t personally smoke weed, but I certainly think it’s ridiculous to see cops running around trying to bust teenagers smoking a joint rather than stopping the hundreds of murders, rapes, and assaults that occur everyday.

And Cocaine isn’t a gateway drug, by the time the person is using coke they’re much past the gateway.
