If I intervene with my brother’s drug addiction, does it mean that he’s going to recover soon?

My big brother is addicted to cocaine. I’ve read some stuff about it and I think it’s time to intervene with his addiction. I just want to know if the results of intervention are always the same. I mean, if I perform an intervention, will he be okay right away?
