If I change from a destructive lifestyle to a healthy one at age 33?

Question by ketzmez: If I change from a destructive lifestyle to a healthy one at age 33?
Can I live a normal, healthy life, or has my body been irreparably damaged.

I have smoked for 15 years (pack/day), had bulimia, been an alcoholic, smoked a lot of pot, and abused LSD, OTC, and prescription dugs. I am also overweight and eat really unhealthy. I could feel just how physically polluted and damaged I was.

I have currently stopped everything and am trying to lose weight, but I am wondering if my body will ever really recover.

I think you will start recovering but for sure you will have consequences. Life is like this, you can stop killing but some day you will go jail. The body is something to take care of,
