Question by Tiffany N: If both parents abuse alcohol and drugs, why would the court allow them to keep the children?
For example, Britany Spears and Kevin Federline were allowed joint cusitody of their children, and the court took into consideration that both parents abuse alcohol and drugs. The court only ordered that they not use drugs around their children, but isn’t substance abuse grounds for removing the children from their parents’ care because clearly as drug abusers, they are unfit to care for small children?
