If ad hoc is “to this,” and post hoc is “after this,” how would you say “before this”?

Question by mortimer: If ad hoc is “to this,” and post hoc is “after this,” how would you say “before this”?
How would you say “before the fact” in Latin? If “ad hoc” is “to this,” and “post hoc” is “after this,” is there an equivalent to “pre hoc”? For example, what phrase would you use if you wanted to say, “She determined her methods ‘pre hoc’ (before the fact, too early…)”?

Thanks!
