Identifying alcoholism abuse
A child is brought up in a family which will provide it with the required social as well as cultural foundation which is required in life. The parents are the role models for the child and they will be exhibit the mannerisms of the world to which the child has not been exposed. But diseases like addiction to alcohol can teach the child the wrong lessons at a very early stage in life. The child endures the maximum amount of damage when one of the parents becomes addicted to alcohol and alcoholism abuse becomes a way of life in the house. The mental strength of the child begins to deteriorate due to any kind of alcoholism abuse. There are certain pointers using which family and friends can detect the presence of alcoholism abuse in the child.
The parent who has become an alcoholic will start exhibiting total indifference towards the child. It is also very likely that the parent will physically abuse the child. The rhythm and balance of life will be completely lost for the child when such incidents start taking place. The child will start viewing the rest of the world in a completely different manner when it has become subjected to abuse by an alcoholic parent. A lot of children have suffered from severe depression after being abused by parents who have become addicted to alcohol.
If there are no other members of the family who can provide the child with the right kind of emotional support for the child who has been abused, then the behavior of the child is likely to undergo a large amount of change. The child will become a loner who has totally withdrawn into a completely exclusive world where no one else knows what they think or how they feel. Depression is one of the most common reactions which take place when a child has been subjected to the abuse of an alcoholic parent.
