Question by Marcus M: I want to get off drugs and stay that way. But addiction is tough. How do i stay away from them.?
I want to be completly clean, but i knew i should have quit using years ago. My health is really suffering from it and I have started losing things that are important to me. The thing is that i don’t really care about me. I don’t want to lose anything else. I have already lost the best thing that has ever happened to me. Is there any techniques that anyone can give me besides rehab and counseling. I cant afford either one. And they are not free. I can usually stay away for a couple days, but i always end up back in the same place. I need someones help badly!!

you need to decide what is important to you and stick with that. also, finding a hobby like exercising to take up your free time will help alot as well. read books, go to the library, try going to a church, even if you aren’t particularly religious. finding an support group, online or in your town, should be a great help as well.

When I decided to get off drugs, I had to lose my friends that were doing drugs with me. It was hard but I went cold turkey and been clean for 5 years.
