Question by N_need_of_help: I need help writing a letter to the judge in support to my boyfriend.?
My boyfriend is in custody for a drug related charge. He was told by his counselor that he is eligible for a nine month rehabilitation program. My boyfriend asked me to write a recommendation letter to the judge in support of him. My only problem is that im not to sure what to include in this letter. I need an example letter to help me get started. Here is a what i have so far:
To whom it may concern:
I am writing this in support of _______________. I have known him for a little over 2 years.
(And then im not to sure what i should write next
and For my last paragraph i am thinking about writing this)
In speaking to________ and knowing him personally I can tell that he truly regrets being in this predicament and understands the cost of his actions. I only ask you to consider sending him to treatment so he can infact get the help he requires. With the support of his friends and family ___________ wants to prove he can be an asset to his family and to the general public.

this happened to my friend. It all depends on your credibility of writing the letter. If you’re 30 years old and a teacher then it would be better. I don’t know anything about you, but if I were you I would find a teacher or someone high up that knows him.

The judge won’t think much of a letter if it’s coming from someone who’s a college student or something. Does that make sense?

But, it won’t hurt to write the letter. The more letters you get the better.
