When I was minor, I got a citation for having less than 1 oz. of marijuana, however, i took a special “shortstop” rehab class and got the situation erased from my record. Now I am an adult, and I just got a misdemeanor citation for having less than 1 oz. of marijuana in CA. The arresting officer said that he ran my name through his system and said that I was clean. He said that all I had to do was take a diversion class, and then the arrest and misdemeanor would be erased from my record. He also said that I’d pay something like a 100 dollar fine. Is this true? Thank you very much.

Yup.
And I don’t think you even have to take the class…I’m not even sure they offer them for that violation.
I don’t know about that whole, “arrest and misdemeanor would be erased from my record” thing, though. Marijuana offenses like this are normally purged from your criminal history after (I think) five years, and I don’t know that they disappear any sooner than that.
Sorry I’m not being very specific here. I could probably look it up to get a little more information but you’re basically talking about a jaywalking ticket here – hard to get excited about it.
