HPV’s role in cancers is not completely understood
The human papillomavirus (HPV) is a cluster of more than 100 viruses linked to some cancers and other diseases. It is believed to be a factor in about one in four head-and-neck tumors, especially along the tonsils, according to the American Cancer Society (ACS). It is not known why HPV, which many people have, triggers cancer in some people and not in others.

VIVIAN, S.D. — Ching Tang Hsu, 25, Salina, was killed Wednesday in a car crash in South Dakota. Hsu was a passenger in a car that went out of control on an icy Interstate Highway 90 west of Vivian in central South Dakota at about 9 a.m., according to a South Dakota Highway Patrol report.
