How to help a person that has a drinking problem?

Question by Happy mother of a baby boy born 10-25-2010: How to help a person that has a drinking problem?
My freind is a alcoholic, and drinks daily. In order for her to stop, should I just pour our all her beer? Even though she would get mad? I was just wandering how to help her, and if doing that would be too much of a hassle, or to gradually help her cut back then slowly help her stop. How is it done? I think its tough love, but please just give me feedback.

Dumping it out is a good for now but the person needs a good reason to quit or they wont!
