How to help a friend detox from smoking meth. She did not know she was being given meth. She feels horrible?

Question by Angel & Lee: How to help a friend detox from smoking meth. She did not know she was being given meth. She feels horrible?
We are trying to help a close friend. She was a frequent medical pot smoker, but met the wrong person and he began lacing hers with meth. For obvious reasons. He had her under his control for about two weeks. We have brought her home with us but don’t know how to help. She is having flu-like symptoms and just feels withdrawn and depressed. I have been told a few things she should avoid like sugar and soda. Can she drink coffee? What else can we do to help her through the detoxification process? Any “helpful” suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

She is going to be strung out for the next 24-48 hours until she gets some good sleep. Ice water or apple juice or cranberry juice would be good to flush out the system. Simple crackers to eat if she wants and something healthy like chicken or salad but no high fat foods.

If she has anything like xanex or valume that would help put her to sleep. If not, give her some bynadryl allergy medicine. It induces sleep & its used for many things other than allergies. After she takes something tell her to lay in a comfortable room, windows drawn shut so she can sleep. If its to hard to think about doing that now giver her something to focus her energy on like a crossword or something. Otherwise the brain darts around.

Speed only stays in the system for about 3 days so after that she should be fine. Meth tends create more of a mental addiction than a physical one but she doesn’t want to be on it so there shouldn’t be an issue.

Just dont let her freak out. Talk to her in a calm manner and tell her its going to be ok. If she has been up for 2 weeks her brain isnt working properly and can play tricks on her.
