Interventions are usually used to face an addict. You can use an intervention to ask an alcohol or a drug addict to seek out help. The entire point of the intervention is to show that they would have the support of everyone if they made the choice to get help.

You should gather a group of people that are involved in the addict’s life into one room. Then, you should put someone in charge of bringing the addict to this location. When they arrive, one person from the group should act to moderate the conversation. Have this person explain what is happening. You do not actually have to use the word intervention, but you should tell them that every one that is gathered cares about them and wants to see them get help for their problem.

A great way to have an effective intervention is to have every person in the room share a quick story or memory about the person before they had their problem. This will help the addict connect the dots and hopefully realize the problems that their addiction is causing in their life. Every person should make an individual plea to the addict to seek out help.

Make sure that you have an addiction center chosen for them. Once they make the decision to get help, they need to go to a rehab clinic right away. You do not want to give them any time to change their mind. An effective intervention is all about showing the person with a problem that you support them in their choice to seek help but you do not support their choice to continue as they are right now.
