How to fix a Toshiba Satellite laptop with the recovery disk?
Question by That’s Enough: How to fix a Toshiba Satellite laptop with the recovery disk?
My Toshiba Satellite laptop has crashed AGAIN. Can I buy a new hard drive and use my factory recover disks to reinstall everything ‘out of the box’ settings and software?
I guess my real question is, does the recovery disk have windows vista on it and if I buy a new blank hard drive will the recovery disk work? Or does it have to verify the existing hard drive in order to reinstall everything?

You should be able to do a system restoration on a new hard drive. However, from Vista onward, the system restoration has been included in a partition on the hard drive itself. I recently restored a Vista system for a friend off that partition. You may want to try that first.
