How much would IVF cost if a family member is donating me an egg for free?

Question by : How much would IVF cost if a family member is donating me an egg for free?
My husband and I have been trying to conceive after having a miscarriage and have been undergoing multiple fertility treatments and drugs. Nothing has worked and we are exploring the option of IVF. Since I am not making any eggs and so far no treatment has worked my sister said she would donate me her eggs. I do not want to use my husbands sperm so we have bought sperm from a donor. Since we have the egg and sperm how much would it be to put them inside me since we would not have to pay someone for their eggs which I know alone can be expensive?

It varies from place to place, doctors, success rates, location etc. . . all impact your cost. On average an IVF cycle tends to run from $ 10,000 to up to $ 18,000 or more.

Even though you do not need to compensate your sister as a donor, she still needs to go through all of the IVF medications to stimulate her ovaries, produce a number of eggs (they don’t just take one), then minor surgery to retrieve them. You will have to be on medications to line up your cycles so that they can then transfer the fertilized egg to you.

I am so sorry for your loss and hope that it works out for you!

Good luck and baby dust!
