Question by queenofswordsvt: How much time is really served of a prison sentence?
Sentenced to 7 years for possession of crack/cocaine and shooting a gun. No-one was hurt. Thank god. Willing to do all rehab he can. Never wants to go back to that life.

In NJ if you commit a violent crime you have to do 85% of your sentence. I don’t know if just shooting a gun would be considered a violent crime or not though. If not I would guess about 18 – 24 months until eligible for parole.
