How long is the recovery process for a blocked urinary tract in a male cat?
Question by quickdrawiii: How long is the recovery process for a blocked urinary tract in a male cat?
My male kitty had a total blockage of his urinary tract and was extremely sick. He seems to be slowly getting better. He is on IV fluids and he is starting to eat a little. He has been at his vet’s office for 6 days. I was just wondering how ling I might expect his recovery to take. It is going very slow but I am hopeful. Thanks!

Go out and buy some food that is GOOD FOR URINARY TRACT HEALTH. Do not feed any thing else.
Also put a couple of drops of lemon in the water to make it’s PH more acid. (this keeps the crystals down)
and get some cranberry pills at the health food store and give to the cat about once a week / month.
When the cat is off antibiotics get some yogert and give it to the cat to replace the good bacteria in the intestines.
I am really sorry your kitty is going through this… I had several died before I found the food and cranberry pills… so I know what’s up.
He should be ok when he returns from the vet… but you are going to have to watch him closely and not let it get so far advanced before taking him in again!
GOOD LUCK
